GUIDED VISIT

Guided Visit of the Court of Justice of the European Union, Luxembourg 11 June 2019

On Tuesday 11 June 2019 a guided visit of the Court of Justice of the European Union took place in Luxembourg for students of the Jean Monnet Module "Transportation Law and Court of Justice of the European Union" (TLCJEU) [Phots 1 e 2].

The visit started in the Conference Room of the Court where students attended an introductory seminar on the joined cases Uniwersytet Wroclawski / Research Executive Agency (REA) (C-515/17) e Poland / Uniwersytet Wroclawski (C-561/17) [Photo 3]. The students then attended the hearing related to such cases before the Court setting in plenary session in the Main Courtroom, named the Grande Salle [Photo 4].

Later the students visited the main building, named the original Palais [Photo 5], along the Atrium [Photos 6 e 7], the Grand Staircase [Photos 8 e 9], the Salle des Pas Perdus, the Gallery of the portraits of Judges and General Advocate of the Court, and Courtrooms [Photo 10]. They admired furniture and artworks representing the European artistic heritage.

After lunch, the students attended a presentation given by the legal officers on the structure, organization, role and functions of the Court.

Finally, a seminar on the multilingualism and the role of the lawyer-linguist took place.

At the end of the visit the students expressed their satisfaction with the guided visit of the Court and the activities undertaken, thanking the Department of Legal Sciences, "Sapienza" University of Rome, for this interesting opportunity.
